Day 8 was spent in Ketchikan. We started off at the Great Alaskan Lumberjack show where Kyle was center stage is the creation of a wooden chair for him. Then we went to Potlatch Park where we saw tribal homes and totem poles. Finally, we walked the streets, including Canal Street. Kyle discovered an ulu is sharp.
Day 9 was a cruising day. We spend the day playing basketball, soccer, and swimming. The kids club had a talent show where Kyle played the piano and then a kids party for the evening.
- The mountains from the plane (and TV on the plane was cool too)
- Hiking through the Alaskan wilderness
- Skipping stones by Mendenhall glacier and a waterfall
- Ryan tried frog legs...and liked it...but they made him jumpy
- A huskie puppy's cry
- Kyle discovered a ulu is sharp
- The tunnels during the train ride to Seward
- Ryan's Tlingit name: Hewhochewsonbread
- Eating sushi that Kyle made
- Kyle got gold
- Swimming in the fridged salt water
- lots of gluten-free options (mango, chocolate, and vanilla mousse)
- The glaciers
