Friday, April 27
Ryan and Kyle were able to leave the hospital late afternoon (approximately 5:30 p.m) on Friday, April 27. The doctor told us only 50% of twins are able to go home at the same time as their mom, which again makes us feel very blessed. Prior to leaving the hospital, they were weighed again. Ryan was 5 lbs., 13 oz. (down from birth weight of 6 lbs., 6 oz.) and Kyle was 5 lbs., 3.9 oz. (down from birth weight of 5 lbs., 11 oz.). Neither of them lost below 10% of their birth weight, which is a key statistic. Also, they measured their bilirubin levels, which is the test measuring their liklihood of jaundice. Ryan scored a 4.7, and Kyle scored an 11.6. Anything below 14 is acceptable.
The pictures show the two little guys with Mommy and Daddy shortly before leaving the hospital, and Ryan and Kyle in their car seats getting ready for the big journey home.
