The lack of recent posts is attributed to an upgrade in technology.  Jason got a smart phone (or as the boys and I like to call it 'phart smone') and it has taken a bit to download the pictures from this new device.

We had a nice time celebrating my birthday.  We had a Mexican dinner, some shopping, and finished the evening off with a pizookie at BJs.

We spent the warm evenings at the neighborhood pool.  Our fish continue to get better and better at swimming.

We lost Fred in August to his struggle with cancer.  It has been a joy getting to know such a kind and loving husband to my grandmother over the past years.  The following is his obituary. 

Wilfred E. "Fred" Dupuis, 91, of Leesburg, Florida (Affectionately known as Tiffy to his family and friends in Michigan), passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at his home. He was born June 17,1923 in Tilbury, Ontario, Canada. Originally from Inkster, MI, he moved to Lady Lake and then onto Leesburg. He was a retired supervisor with General Motors Corp for 30 years. Fred was a Veteran of the US Navy during WWII. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed cooking, loved history and reading his Wall Street Journal. Fred had a cheerful personality, infectious smile and a gentle manner about him. He had a sincere nature and great intellect. He is survived by his wife Carol of Leesburg; daughters Denise B. Rudisill of Dearborn, MI; Diane P. McAllister of Northville, MI; Julie Bechtol of Taylor, MI; sister Rose Lundy of Westland, MI and 3 grandchildren. On Friday, August 15, 2014, a funeral procession will leave at 1:45PM from Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St. Leesburg, FL, to The Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. A military service with Reverend Lawrence Reeves presiding; will take place at 3PM. A reception will follow.

With this loss, we also received a blessing.  Grandma Carol returned to Indiana for a visit following Fred's funeral.  We enjoyed spending two weekends with her in Indiana!  We even had a family photo shoot to remember the occasion!

We went to Becca and Russ' house to spend a weekend with the family!

The final weekend in August, we attended Camp Lakeview as a family.  This is always such a wonderful time.  Here are a few pictures highlighting the two nights.

A big praise is that I was able to zipline!  This is the first time since my neurosurgery where I was able to do something like this without getting too dizzy or light-headed.
