August and September

We have remained busy in the new school routine and are loving it!  While Jason is hard working during the week, the boys and I stay busy. 

 

Monday, in the morning while the boys attend school, I work out the the lesson plan for afternoon home school.  Monday afternoon consists of completing homework, learning the letter for the week, learning the two sight words of the week, doing the letter of the week scavenger hunt, and doing a sight word word search in scripture.

 

Tuesday, in the morning, I just started Bible Study Fellowship.  In the afternoon, we read 3-5 books off the Kindergarten list and study Science.  Lately, we have been focused on Zoo Animals.

 

Wednesday, in the morning, I volunteer in RyKy's Kindergarten class, and, in the afternoon, we do a field trip.   Lately, we've been going to the Zoo to look at and review the animals we studied on Tuesday.

 

Thursday, in the morning, I work.  In the afternoon, we do Social Studies.  Lately, we are learning about countries, states, capitals, and maps.  The boys always request to map the route we walked at the zoo.  We also do our School Bible study on this day.

 

Friday, in the morning, I grocery shop and it is chores day.  The boys and I wrap up any home school work in the afternoon, do the chores for the week, and get ready for a fun weekend!

We won two fish and had our first pets in the house.   Bruce, Kyle's fish, passed away in only 5 days. Kyle's tender and loving heart was broken which resulted in many tears.  A few days later, Ryan's fish, Crush, was discovered 'floating' . Kyle comforted Ryan and explained it was OK if he needed to cry. Ryan replied, "No thanks" and went on to read a book.

 We attend All Pro Dad's where we were able to meet Tony Dungy.

 Kyle's cast came off!  The skin is still healing but the bone is all better.

Labor day weekend plan of Holiday World had to be cancelled because of rain.  Grammie and Grandpy spent the weekend with us instead.  We also headed up to Beaver Dam Lake for a weekend before their return to Florida.

Jon, Melissa, and Maddie visited us this past weekend.  He had a wonderful time catchup up with them and ventured to the Children's Museum.
