Yippee, We're 3!

Wow! It is so hard to believe that Ryan and Kyle have been a part of our life for over 3 years now. Time flies and they have grown so much! I am so glad Jason started this blog because it is so fun to look back at all the milestones they have accomplished. Jason and I just love our #1 job of being parents for these little guys. We are so blessed to have our amazing family of four!
Ryan and Kyle had a fantastic 3rd birthday. To begin with, Grandma and Grandpa Mueller, and Great-Grandma Plamann made their annual birthday trip to Indy from Wisconsin. The morning started out with Mickey Mouse waffles and then the boys opened their cards and presents. Ryan had a blast finding the word 'birthday' in all of the cards.
We then headed to Traders Point Creamery for lunch...where the boys had milkshakes.mmmmm! Continuing with the Mickey Mouse theme, we had some friends and neighbors over in the evening for an impromptu birthday party. The kiddos decorated Mickey Mouse cookies. Ryan's cookie had just a slight spreading of frosting lightly decorated with dot sprinkles. Kyle's cookie had mountains of frosting, and I think he dumped an entire container of sprinkles on his (getting much of it on the floor). A perfect example of how different our boys are ;-) Then it was cake time.

Kyle had a challenging time blowing out his candle...I think Ryan actually got it for him eventually. The video is quite funny!

The evening ended with popcorn and the viewing of our Disney trip video. They had a late bedtime as they were so wired from all the sugar!

Here are some highlights at the prime age of 3 for Ryan and Kyle:
  • We are officially potty trained thanks to the rewards of a train set and the desire to swim in grammie's pool
  • The boys love to spell: dog, cat, cow, ryan, kyle, chalk, even birthday!
  • Love shooting hoops
  • Kyle always says "I want to do that again" in the cutest voice
  • They do not like bugs in the house...they smooch ants with a paper towels and tell us that we need to spray for bugs
  • They love to get haircuts
  • Keen memories for special adventures to McDonald's and Starbucks
  • Like to sit on the front porch in rocking chairs and draw
  • Know all their colors, shapes, and numbers
  • Starting to tell time...in the morning, as soon as the clock turn to 7:00...Ryan exclaims "It's 7 o'clock, time to get up"
  • They love to write the letters, color, and draw. Kyle is very focused at this and detailed
  • Favorite foods are frozen waffles, fruit snacks, and chocolate milk
  • Like the games of mouse trap, the manners picnic game, and curious george
  • They love their train!
  • The lion roar is still good...but is now expanding to monster noises
  • Favorite movie is Blues Clues
  • What they want to be for Halloween changes every day
  • We have a nice monster that lives in our house
  • They love to sing songs like hush little baby, ABCs, It's a small world
  • They love our made up song "good morning Ryan and Kyle"
  • At meals they will let you know if "we forgot to pray"
  • Naps and bedtime are still a challenge
  • They still fight over the yellow bicycle
  • Ryan is angelic around others...but has a temperament...and a meltdown at least once a day!
  • Kyle is energetic and distracted
  • Kyle introduces himself as Jamison and tells everyone Ryan is Nicolaus
  • They treat us like rock stars and are sooo excited to see us
  • They want hugs and kisses at every departure...and like 20 of them every night

It is so fun to watch Ryan and Kyle now as their personalities are so distinct yet they are best friends! We just thank God for blessing us with TWO wonderful children and the celebration of their 3rd birthday!
